problem downloading to sd card with android 4.3

Having problem downloading torrent to sd card with android 4.3 jellybean. When I change directory
App slows and eta goes to infinity. Then when I exit app the whole tablet slows down tremendously. How do I fix? Running t torrent pro on Sony experia tablet. I've read the problems downloading to sd card with kit Kat but this is jellybean please help.
